Sesame Seared Tuna Burger with Blackberry Ginger Balsamic Slaw

INGREDIENTS

2Tuna steaks, 6 oz each

1/3 cup of mayo

2 TBS wasabi paste

2 TBS chopped pickled ginger

10 oz bag chopped cabbage slaw

1/3 cup Blackberry Ginger Balsamic

4 TBS Dark Toasted Sesame Oil

2 TBS soy sauce

4 ciabatta rolls

pinch toasted sesame seeds


METHOD

  • mix balsamic ginger small amount of ginger juice toss in the slaw leave to marinade for 15 or longer be sure to mix from time to time.
  • add wasabi to mayo and mix well
  • heat sesame oil in skillet on high heat
  • while pan heats butterfly steaks so that they are half as thick, place steaks on a plate and pat each side with a paper towel to remove excess moisture, then drizzle both sides of each steak with soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds
  • When pan is hot sear tuna on each side until lightly browned, roughly 1 minute per side for medium rare temp
  • Toast ciabatta bun and assemble burgers
